How NeetJob collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Who We Are

NeetJob ("we", "our", "us") is an automated job hunting platform built by Marlvin Basera as part of a Cybersecurity & Full-Stack Development certification project. We are based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use NeetJob:

Account Information: Your email address, display name, and chosen subscription plan when you register.
CV Data: Information you enter into the CV builder - work experience, education, skills, and personal summary. This is stored to enable PDF generation and saved CV management.
Usage Data: Which features you use, jobs you save or apply for, and application pipeline status. This is used to personalise your experience.
Contact Form Data: Name, email, subject, and message when you contact us through the website.
Device & Log Data: IP address, browser type, and timestamps logged for security auditing and fraud prevention purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and improve the NeetJob platform
Personalise your job feed based on your saved keywords
Send email notifications for new matching job listings (if enabled)
Generate AI-powered suggestions using Google Gemini AI
Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
Respond to your support requests and contact form messages
Maintain security audit logs for system integrity

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.

4. Data Storage & Security

All user data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.

Access to your data is protected by Firebase Security Rules that enforce strict per-user access. Only you can read or write your own data. Our server uses JWT (JSON Web Token) authentication to verify your identity on every API request.

Additional security measures in place include: rate limiting, brute-force protection, SSRF filtering on external requests, and a comprehensive audit logging system.

5. Third-Party Services

NeetJob uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Firebase (Google): Authentication and database storage. Firebase Privacy Policy →
Google Gemini AI: AI-powered content generation (cover letters, job matching). Prompts are not retained by Google for training without consent.
Resend: Transactional email delivery for job alerts and contact form messages. Resend Privacy Policy →
Google Fonts: Typography delivery via CDN. No personal data is collected.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: You can view all your stored data from your account dashboard at any time.
Correction: You can update your profile and CV data directly in the dashboard.
Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at basobasosoftwares@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
Opt-out of emails: You can disable email notifications at any time from your account settings in the dashboard.

7. Cookies

NeetJob uses only essential session cookies managed by Firebase Authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

NeetJob is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
